The paint is dry, and the welcome mats are placed outside the new model homes at Terra Lago, a Garcia Community, in the heart of Indiantown. A grand opening celebration was held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 11, 2025, at the intersection of Garcia Drive and SW American.

These model homes are part of the first phase of the Terra Lago development which includes single-family homes in Martin County starting in the $300s. Construction of townhomes is well underway with apartments expected later in the process.

Governor Ron DeSantis attended the event in order to honor the Treasure Coasts’ only attainable housing community and to present the Village of Indiantown with a $22.5 million check for continued infrastructure improvements to its water and waste water facilities. State and local support has been overwhelming for the Village and the Governor recognized the role that this community will play in the needs of Martin County residents.

“I know they promised to offer homes at $300,000. That was a promise that was made a few years ago and we have had quite a bit of inflation since then so not only to deliver homes at that price point, that’s a really significant achievement and will be attainable for working folks who have big contributions to our state, this county, and surrounding communities,” remarked Governor DeSantis.

Terra Lago developers, Meritage Homes and Ryan Homes, took part in the grand opening festivities which included Josh Kellam, President of Garcia Companies, Indiantown Mayor Carmine Dipaolo, and Village Manager Taryn Kryzda. A community park was dedicated to Sandy Garcia on behalf of Garcia Companies’ founder Eddie Garcia, the visionary behind Terra Lago who sought attainable housing options for hard working Floridians.

“Our dream is coming true. Mr. Garcia would be so proud of what we have accomplished, and that Terra Lago is providing the average everyday worker a place to call home in a community that values family and connection,” said Josh Kellam, President of The Garcia Companies. “Building sustainable communities where people live, work, and play is our legacy,” added Kellam. “Terra Lago is a testament to that commitment.”

Terra Lago is in South Florida along the Treasure Coast, just a short drive away from Stuart, Port St. Lucie, and The Palm Beaches. The community will maintain over seven miles of walking trails and fishable lakes as well as wetlands and preserves for homeowners to appreciate and enjoy.
