Light the Night (Virtual) Event to benefit LLS

Wednesday, October 21, 2020 | Virginia Beach, VA

The Garcia Companies participated in the Light the Night Hampton Roads event on October 10th benefiting the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS).  For the 2nd year, Team Garcia participated in memory of its Founder and former Chairman, Eddie Garcia.

Though the event format was altered due to COVID 19, Team Garcia participated virtually (walking, running, or biking) and provided contributions through sponsorship and funds raised. Staff, friends, family, and business associates made generous contributions to the team, raising $12,000 for LLS. Andrea Kilmer (President and CEO) and Brittany Jeffries (Vice President) also served on the local Light the Night Executive Committee to help increase company and community involvement.

LLS funds research for blood cancer cures, provides resources to assist cancer patients with access to care, and advocates for policies to benefit cancer patients. As stated on its site, LLS is the largest funder of cutting-edge research to advance cures. LLS has invested nearly $1.3 billion in research and are leaders in advancing breakthroughs in immunotherapy, genomics and personalized medicine.

The Garcia Companes is thankful for the support shown in honor of Eddie and looks forward to future events to benefit LLS.
