Demonstrating their ongoing commitment to education and community investment, The Garcia Companies, including its affiliate Terra Lago, will once again provide school supplies for every student at Warfield Elementary School in the Village of Indiantown.
The effort marks the second time the organization has supplied the entire student body with backpacks and essential classroom materials, ensuring every Warfield student begins the school year equipped for success.
On July 27-29, residents of the Village of Indiantown and Terra Lago along with Garcia team members, and other volunteers will gather at the historic Seminole Inn to assemble backpacks filled with school supplies for local students. Recently acquired by Garcia, the landmark property is slated for preservation and restoration as part of the company's broader commitment to honoring Indiantown's rich heritage.
The completed backpacks will be distributed to students and their families during a community event at Warfield Elementary School on August 7.
Community leaders joining the initiative are expected to include elected officials, school board members, and Village staff, alongside numerous community volunteers.
The effort reflects The Garcia Companies' long-standing philosophy of building sustainable businesses that create collective opportunity and give back to the communities where they live, work, and grow. That commitment is deeply rooted in the legacy of the company's late founder, Edward S. "Eddie" Garcia, whose passion for supporting students stemmed from his own childhood experiences.
Eddie Garcia received a formal education only through the sixth grade and personally understood the challenges of attending school without adequate clothing, shoes, and supplies. Throughout his life, he remained a strong advocate for education and for meeting the basic needs of children and families.
"Indiantown represents the very best of what community means," said Josh Kellam, Chief Executive Officer of The Garcia Companies. "Providing every Warfield Elementary student with the tools they need for a successful school year is about more than school supplies—it's about opportunity, dignity, and investing in the future. This initiative honors Eddie Garcia's belief that when communities come together to support young people, everyone benefits. We are proud to continue that legacy and grateful to our partners, volunteers, and local leaders who help make it possible."
The initiative also aligns with Terra Lago's vision of being more than a residential community. The Garcia Companies has long emphasized educational support, community involvement, and creating meaningful opportunities that strengthen the Village of Indiantown and its residents. The company's community initiatives and educational outreach have been established as a key part of Terra Lago's commitment to the Village.
